About the event

ABYSS

A world premiere play by Jarid McCarthy

Directed by Paige Taylor

Prometheus, doomed for gifting fire to mankind, and the Eagle tasked with his perpetual torment, strike up an impossible camaraderie in the depths of their shared burden.  From his place beneath the world, Prometheus watches through the Eagle’s eyes what it has become, and what it soon will lose. In the light of her resentment, the Eagle bristles against the vicious truth of her own purpose.  Weighed down by the cycle of exhaustion and viscera between them, the two struggle to help one another face it. Their relationship blooms, then rots— and then becomes something entirely new, all while a burning horizon looms dark above them.
